Rockleigh: A rival of Texas Hold'emRockleigh is a bewitching poker variation. It falls under community poker together with Texas Hold'em. In community poker, there are cards placed on the table that other players can use in combination to the cards handed to them. The variation of community poker lies in the number of cards dealt to each player and the number of cards set on the table. How community cards are laid may be circle, square, cross or a line may different. The difference between the two kinds of community poker may also be on the timing community cards are held face up. The five-card combination seen in other poker game is achieved by combining the cards being dealt and the cards on the table. Depending whether it is high or low, the winning combination wins the pot. In this game, four cards are handed to each player. Others would say that five cards are handed over instead of four. When receiving his fourth or fifth card in another rule, the dealer then allots four groups of cards arranged by twos in a row face down on the center of the table. After the players see the cards they have been handed, betting takes place. From another source, betting takes place when dealer flips pair open. When this is through, dealer turn face up a group, the groups are of two cards in a row. Another betting transpires until the last two cards are revealed and showdown takes place. Upon showdown, a player selecting high, is to select the best five cards in his hand with added help from one or two cards from one of the four groups on the table. This holds true for playing calling low. The player must contract and point to the two-card group one wishes to integrate with one's high or low hand. When announcing both high and low, they may utilize one-card group for a high and another for low. If possible, one group may be picked for both high and low hands. In contrast to Rockleigh, in Texas Hold'em, the players are dealt two cards and the initial community cards are three, one more card is slowly added in each round. Each round even has a term. The first time three community cards are laid is called flop. The addition of the next card is termed turn and when the last is revealed it is called river. The stages of play in Rockleigh have no names like in Texas hold'em. |
